The Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens Harvest Festival takes place on the Pleasure Gardens at 4pm on Saturday 20th September 2014. Members of the Vauxhall Community have been growing vegetables over the summer and it is now time to bring in the Vauxhall Harvest. All are welcome and encouraged to bring anything that they have grown, or even things that they have bought to become part of the Vauxhall Harvest Feast. We will use the ingredients to make a communal meal for everyone to come together and enjoy. The centrepiece of the feast will be a Hog-Roast providing succulent meat to go with all the healthy vegetables.
The Harvest Festival is part of the 150th anniversary celebrations of St Peters church which is located on the edge of the Pleasure Gardens on Kennington Lane. Festival goers are encouraged to meet at the church at 3:30 with their harvest goodies and join a procession to the Pleasure Gardens at 4:00.
Our chef will explain what he is doing with all the ingredients as he is making the dishes and everyone is encouraged to help. The festival programme will be a free recipe book containing easy and healthy recipes using the type of ingredients harvested at this time of year.
Join us for a fabulous communal feast and sample traditional Harvest Festival crafts and celebrations.
